Googles Thanos easter egg is cool but it also serves a higher purpose

Click on the gauntlet to see an all-familiar effect take place. 50 percent of the search result fade away to dust.

The Google easter egg has Thanos snap his fingers to wipe away search results, just like he wiped away half the population of the universe in a snap in Avengers: Infinity War. Google even shows the total number of results that vanish after the snap.
